How To Deal with Hard Water

If you're experiencing the following things you're likely feeling the effects of hard water:

-itchy scalp and skin

-flaky scalp

-dry hair & breakage

-new haircolor is fading quickly & looking orange

-your hair doesn't feel clean even when freshly shampooed

All of WNY has hard water. If you live in an old home without a completely updated plumbing system, even with a water softener system, the corrosion of galvanized steel or cast iron pipes can leave unwanted mineral deposits in your water. Here's what to do for your skin and hair:

-Use a good clarifying shampoo 1-2x per month that won't overly strip your hair and won't ruin your color. For colored hair and blondes I like Olaplex No4C and Malibu C Hard Water Wellness shampoo: https://malibuc.com/products/hard-water-wellness-shampoo...

-Get a showerhead filter! I like and use this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MUBU0YC/...

After trying these, if you're still having a problem with your hair and scalp you may want to book an in salon hard water intense clarifying treatment to do a full reset. We may also need to examine your haircare products and habits to see if the problem lies there. Hope this helps!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!
